This Privacy Policy document is published in accordance with the provisions of Rule 4(1) of the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 which requires the publishing of Privacy Policy (“Policy”) for handling of or dealing in personal information, including sensitive personal data or information.

(“CTIL,” “we,” “us,” “our”) know that our Users (“you,” “your”) care about how your Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”) is used and shared, and we take your privacy seriously. Please read the following to learn more about our Privacy Policy. By using our Services in any manner whatsoever, you acknowledge that you accept the practices and policies outlined in this Privacy Policy document, and that you hereby consent that we can collect, use, and share your PII as detailed in this document.
1. PRIVACY POLICY OVERVIEW
This Privacy Policy covers our treatment of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) which are personal data or information in nature that we gather, when you are accessing or using our Services, either directly or through other Websites that are using our Services. This Policy does not apply to the practices of entities that we do not own or control or manage, or to individuals that we do not employ or control or manage.
Our Services are available only to persons who can enter into a legally binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. If you are a minor i.e. under the age of 18 years, you may use our Services only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who can enter into a legally binding contract.
We gather various types of PII from our Users, as explained in this document. We may use this PII to personalize and improve our Services, to allow our Users to set up a User account and profile, to contact Users, to fulfill the Users’ requests for donations, to analyze how Users utilize the Services, and as otherwise set forth in this Privacy Policy. We may share certain types of PII with third parties, as described in this document.
By using our Services, you signify your assent to this Privacy Policy and consent to the processing of your PII. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use our Services in any manner whatsoever.
2. THE INFORMATION BEING COLLECTED, THE NEED FOR THE SAME &USAGE
Information Provided by the User:
We receive and store any information you knowingly provide to us. For example, we collect PII, such as your name, email address, browser information, and third-party account credentials (for example, your log-in credentials for email or Facebook or other third party sites) and any other such information as may be required by law, to allow you to make donations. If you provide your third-party account credentials to us, you understand that some content and/or information in those accounts (“Third Party Account Information”) may be transmitted into your account with us, if you authorize such transmissions, and that Third Party Account Information transmitted to our Services is covered by this Privacy Policy. Most of the information that we collect is required by law, to make donation(s). We may also collect some other information (e.g. email id, mobile number, etc.) which help us to communicate with you regarding your donation and provide you with the necessary acknowledgement and e-receipts. This also allows us to assist you with customer service or technical support issues, enforce our Terms and Conditions and prevent fraud and unlawful use. We also collect certain additional information that will allow you to take advantage of some of our advanced features. In our efforts to continually improve our Service offerings, we collect and analyze demographic and profile data about Users. We implement standard measures to protect against unauthorized access to and unlawful interception of PII. However, we would like to inform you that no Online Service can fully eliminate security risks due to hacking and other malicious intent. If you choose not to provide any essential information, the Services may not be made available to you.
We may also require Credit Card or Debit Card details for facilitating payments; however, such details shall not be stored or used by us in any manner other than in accordance with the Terms and Conditions. This information may be held and stored with third party Payment Gateway operator authorized at multiple points. The Payment Gateway operator may also have access to your Online payment history/ details in relation to the payment made through our Services. These Payment Gateways are digitally encrypted, thereby providing the highest possible degree of privacy and care available, currently. Whilst we are unable to guarantee 100% (One Hundred percent) security, this, however, makes it hard for a hacker to decrypt your details. You are strongly recommended not to send full Credit or Debit Card details in unencrypted electronic communications with us. Also, you are responsible for protecting against unauthorized access to your Password and to your Computer, Mobile Phone or other Devices used for Online transactions / payments.
We will communicate with you about your use of our Services through the means of communication that you have provided us. Also, we may receive a confirmation when you open a message from us. This confirmation helps us make our communications with you more interesting and improve our Services. If you do not want to receive communications from us that are not important to the Services, you can click on the Unsubscribe link provided at the bottom of each email sent to you by us. However, we will continue to send the Services and transaction related communication without offering you the facility to opt-out.
In the event you submit any comment or feedback through our Services, we may (but not obliged to) publish your comments or feedback (including images) Online or Offline, to promote our business and Services. We will collect your name, which will be displayed next to your comment, and e-mail address, which will not be published, but which we may use to contact you in relation to your comment. From time to time, we may ask you for your opinion on our Services. When we do surveys, wherein we may use Cookies (as defined below) or other on-device storage and may combine the information collected by those Cookies or other on-device storage with your answers. We will make sure that the survey results do not identify you, or anyone else, who fills in our surveys.
Information Collected Automatically:
Whenever you interact with our Services, we automatically receive and record information on our Server logs from your Browser, including your IP address, Browser information, Cookie information, and the page you requested. “Cookies” are identifiers we transfer to your Computer or Mobile Phone or any other such device that allow us to recognize your Browser or Mobile Phone or such other device and tell us how and when pages and features in our Services are visited and by how many people. You may be able to change the preferences on your Browser or Mobile Phone or such other device, to prevent or limit your Computer or Mobile Phone or such other device’s acceptance of Cookies, but this may prevent you from taking advantage of some of our features. If you click on a link to a third party Website, such third party may also transmit Cookies to you. This Privacy Policy does not cover the use of Cookies by any third parties.
When we collect usage information (such as the numbers and frequency of visitors, etc.), we only use this data in aggregate form, and not in a manner that would identify you personally. For example, this aggregate data tells us how often Users use parts of the Services, so that we can make the Services appealing to as many Users as possible. We may also provide this aggregate information to our partners; our partners may use such information to understand how often and in what ways people use our Services, so that they too can provide you with an optimal experience. We never disclose aggregate information to a partner in a manner that would identify you personally.
3. POLICY ON SHARING PII
Possible entities with which PII might be shared:
NGO you have donated to: Your PII (name, address, email id, PAN #, Mobile number, etc) will be shared with the NGO to whom you have made donation, as the NCO is required to maintain the complete record of the donations received, for compliance purposes.
Business Partners: We use Business Partners (e.g. Payment Processors, Banks, Logistics Providers, etc.) to perform tasks related to the Services and we share your information with them on a need-to-know basis.
Business Transfers: We may choose to buy or sell assets. In these types of transactions, customer information is typically one of the business assets that would be transferred. Also, if we (or our assets) are acquired, or if we go out of business, or go through some other change of control, etc., PII would be one of the assets transferred to or acquired by a third party.
Law Enforcement Agencies: To help the Law Enforcement Agencies prevent fraud, money laundering, terrorism and other crimes. Also, we may disclose your PII to the Police, Regulatory bodies or legal advisers, in connection with any alleged criminal offence or suspected breach of this Privacy Policy and/or the Terms and Conditions or otherwise where required by law; we shall co-operate with any Law Enforcement authorities or Court Order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity of or locate anyone breaching this Privacy Policy or otherwise for the prevention or detection of crime or the apprehension or prosecution of offenders.
Protection of CTIL and Others: We reserve the right to access, read, preserve, and disclose any information that we reasonably believe is necessary to comply with Law or Court Order; enforce or apply our conditions of use and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of CTIL, our employees, our Users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
With Your Consent: Except as set forth above, you will be notified when your PII may be shared with third parties and you will be able to prevent such sharing at your discretion.
In addition to the above, disclosures may also be made, if it was clearly stated at the time of registration and, where required, if you have given permission for this. Generally, we will disclose only the information we consider reasonably necessary to disclose. Also, some general statistical information about the Site user base, traffic volume and related matters may be passed on to reputable third parties but these details will not include information personally identifying you.
Exclusion from sharing PII:
Other NGOs: We will never share your PII with other NGOs / charitable organizations to whom you have not donated.
Own or Third Party Marketing: Your PII will never be shared by us with any third party for cost or free. Additionally we will never use your PII to send any form of marketing communication to you unrelated to the use of our Services or on behalf of a third-party.
4. PII SECURITY
Your account is protected by a Password, to protect your privacy and security. You must prevent unauthorized access to your account and PII by selecting and protecting your Password and/or other sign-on mechanism appropriately and limiting access to your Computer or Mobile Phone or any other device and Browser by signing off after you have finished accessing your account. We ensure that all information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way by using Secured Socket Layer (SSL) encryption.
While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted Online, we also protect your information Offline. Only employees who need the information to perform their role related to the Services (for example, billing or customer service or responding to legal requests) are granted access to PII. The Servers in which we store PII and payment information are kept in a secure environment with required isolation.
We strive to ensure the security, integrity, protection and privacy of your PII against unauthorized access or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction. We follow stringent security techniques and requirements for handling sensitive PII. These techniques and requirements are fully compliant with the guidelines set forth under the applicable laws. Our Servers are accessible only by authorized personnel. Your information covered under this Privacy Policy is shared with respective personnel only on need to know basis and/ or to provide the Services you have requested. All representatives handling information under these provisions are under contractual confidentiality obligation with CTIL. While we take every step to safeguard the confidentiality of your PII, by using our Services, you agree and confirm that we are not liable for any disclosure due to errors in transmission or unauthorized acts of third parties or Linked Sites. We cannot guarantee complete security. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of User information at any time. The Services may contain links to other sites. We are not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices on other sites. When following a link to another site, you should read that site’s privacy policy.
We shall not be liable for any loss, damage or misuse of your PII due to a Force Majeure Event. A “Force Majeure Event ” for the purposes of this Privacy Policy shall mean any event that is beyond reasonable control of CTIL and shall include, without limitation, sabotage, fire, flood, explosion, acts of God, civil commotion, strikes or industrial action of any kind, riots, insurrection, war, acts of government, computer hacking, unauthorized access to computer data and storage device, computer viruses breach of security and encryption or any other cause beyond our control.
5. ACCESS TO PII
Through your account settings, you may access the following information provided by you:
The information you can view, update and delete may change, duly conforming to the regulations in this regard (For example, User ID and PAN cannot be updated for an Indian User).
We will collect and retain information about your transactions and Service requests based on Cookies, network information and device information, to provide adequate security, prevent fraudulent transactions and for audit and legal purposes, which will not be revealed in public.
6. USERS’ RIGHT TO DISCLOSE &UPDATE PII
You can always opt not to disclose information to use; however, some information may be needed to register you with us or to take advantage of some of our special features.
You may be able to add, update, or delete information as explained in Section-5 above. When you update information, however, we may maintain a copy of the unrevised / prior instance of the information in our records.
7. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes in the way we use PII, we will notify you (for example, by email or a sign-in notification or through some other means). By continuing to use the Services after those changes become effective, you are agreeing to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy; if you do not agree to the change, simply don’t use the Services after the change(s) has / have become effective, in which case the change(s) will not apply to you.
8. AMENDMENTS TO PRIVACY POLICY
We reserve the right to change, modify, add or delete portions of this Privacy Policy at any time, at our sole discretion, without notice, and it is your responsibility to review this Privacy Policy from time to time, through our Services, in order to keep track and take note of the changes. Your use of our Services following any amendment of this Privacy Policy will signify and constitute your consent to and acceptance of such revised Privacy Policy. We will not file or store a copy of these terms for each interaction on transaction by you using our Services. We therefore recommend that you save a copy of this Privacy Policy for future reference, and ensure that such copies can be reliably verified as being effective (e.g. available through our Services) on a particular date.

By using our Services and/or by providing your information, you consent to the collection and use of the information you disclose through our Services in accordance with this Privacy Policy, including but not limited to your consent for sharing your information as per this Privacy Policy.
